Nollywood film “Oversabi Aunty”, directed by Toyin Abraham, has crossed the ₦1 billion mark at the box office, becoming the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time.
The milestone was announced by distributor FilmOne, which disclosed that the film has earned ₦1,017,201,953 in cinemas across West Africa.
In a celebratory message shared on social media, FilmOne expressed gratitude to audiences across the region, describing the feat as a major victory for the Nigerian film industry.

The success has triggered an outpouring of excitement online, with fellow actors and fans applauding the film’s historic run. Actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington shared her excitement in a brief celebratory post, while fans hailed the film as a groundbreaking moment for debut directors in Nollywood.
Several social media users described the achievement as extraordinary, praising Abraham’s impact and the strong audience support the film has received.
The achievement also makes Oversabi Aunty the first Nollywood directorial debut to reach the ₦1 billion benchmark.
