Former England defender Kieran Trippier has confirmed he will leave Newcastle United at the end of the season when his contract expires.
The 35-year-old full-back has made more than 150 appearances for the club since joining from Atlético Madrid in January 2022.
During his time at Newcastle, he played a key role in their League Cup triumph last season, the club’s first major trophy in 70 years, and helped secure qualification for the Champions League on two occasions in the last three campaigns.
In a message shared through the club’s website, Trippier said he was bidding farewell after what he described as a deeply meaningful time at the club.

He said Newcastle had felt like home and described the decision to leave as an emotional one, adding that he would miss the club and its supporters.
“The time has come to leave this amazing club after four and a half years.
“This is where I have felt most at home. It’s emotional, and I’m really going to miss it.”
The former Burnley and Tottenham defender, who earned 54 caps for England, also paid tribute to his teammates, describing his time with the squad as an “amazing journey.”
