The Defence Headquarters says troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised several terrorists in Borno State and disrupted a coordinated drone-assisted attack during intensified operations in the North-East.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Michael Onoja, disclosed this on Friday in Abuja while briefing on military activities between March 13 and March 19.
He said troops repelled a major attack in Mallam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State, killing dozens of terrorists, including senior commanders. Follow-up operations reportedly led to the recovery of 74 bodies and weapons, including AK-47 rifles, machine guns, and an RPG tube.
According to him, troops also foiled infiltration attempts in parts of Bama, Gujba and Kaga, while several logistics suppliers and informants were arrested. He added that coordinated air and ground assaults disrupted further attacks in areas including Baga, Damboa and Buratai.
“Troops also thwarted multiple infiltration attempts across Bama, Gujba and Kaga local government areas, while key logistics suppliers and informants were arrested.
“Coordinated air and ground operations also repelled attacks in Baga, Damboa, Buratai and Njimtilo, degrading ISWAP capabilities,” he said.

In the North-West, he said Operation Fansan Yamma troops recorded gains in Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna and Kebbi states, including the rescue of kidnapped victims and disruption of criminal networks.
Terrorists were neutralised in Shinkafi, while arms and motorcycles were recovered.
He added that four abducted victims were rescued in Katsina, while troops in Kaduna foiled an attempted kidnapping of a cleric. In Kano, a female ammunition courier was intercepted with 884 rounds of ammunition.
In the North-Central, troops under Operations Savannah Shield and Enduring Peace arrested suspected terrorists and ammunition couriers in Kwara, Plateau and Nasarawa, while abducted victims were rescued in Plateau and Benue. Illegal mining activities were also disrupted around the Federal Capital Territory.
In the Niger Delta, Onoja said troops intensified operations against oil theft, uncovering illegal refining sites and recovering thousands of litres of stolen petroleum products across Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers states. Several suspects linked to kidnapping, drug trafficking and illegal refining were also arrested.
“Troops dismantled illegal refining sites, seized over 3,000 litres of illegally refined products and intercepted vehicles and boats conveying stolen fuel,” he said.
In the South-East, he said troops of Operation Udo Ka neutralised suspected terrorists in Imo and recovered explosives, while additional clearance operations led to arrests of suspected cultists and recovery of weapons in Ebonyi and Cross River.
He said the operations reflect the military’s continued effort to deny criminal groups freedom of action and strengthen security across the country.
