A tropical cyclone that hit Madagascar has killed seven people, authorities said on Monday.
The National Disaster Risk Management Agency (BNGRC) said that one of the seven people confirmed dead was killed in Antananarivo, the city’s capital, while another person was still missing after being swept away by a river.

The agency further stated that more than 20,000 people have been forced to leave their homes.
According to the Meteorological agency, Cyclone Fytia was the fifth tropical storm to hit Madagascar since September.
Fytia, packing gusts of up to 210 kilometres (130 miles) per hour, hit the Indian Ocean island early on Saturday and left early Sunday.
The country has been exposed to extreme weather events such as storms and droughts, which experts say are expected to worsen with climate change.
