In a published interview, US President Donald Trump intensified his criticism of European nations, describing the continent as “weak” and “decaying” due to its policies on immigration and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Recycling talking points commonly used by the far-right, Trump claimed that European nations like Britain, France, Germany, Poland, and Sweden were being “destroyed” by migration, calling their approach a “disaster” for being too politically correct.

He also specifically attacked Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London.

When questioned about whether Europe would remain a US ally if it didn’t adopt his administration’s views on migration, Trump responded that “it depends.”

Furthermore, he dismissed the Kremlin’s positive reception of the new US national security strategy, arguing that Russian President Vladimir Putin desires a weak Europe, which Trump believes he is currently getting—an outcome Trump claims is unrelated to him.

Finally, Trump criticised European countries for not being effective in resolving the war between Russia and Ukraine.
