US President Donald Trump has expressed his happiness over golf legend Tiger Woods’ new relationship with Vanessa Trump, his former daughter-in-law. Trump, speaking to reporters in Washington on Monday, described Woods as “a fantastic guy” and wished the couple well.
Tiger Woods, who has been notoriously private about his personal life, confirmed last week that he is dating Vanessa Trump, who was previously married to Donald Trump Jr. during Trump’s first term in office.
“Tiger actually called me a few months ago, and we have a very special, very good relationship with Tiger,” Trump said. “I played golf with him a couple of times over the last month, and he’s a fantastic guy and a fantastic athlete, and he told me about it, and I said ‘Tiger, that’s good,'” Trump continued.

“I’m very happy for both, I just, let them both be happy. Let them both be happy. They’re both great.”
The confirmation of their relationship came as Tiger Woods shared a romantic social media post featuring photos of himself and Vanessa, captioned, “Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side.” Vanessa also posted a similar image on her Instagram, in what appeared to be a coordinated announcement.
Vanessa Trump divorced Donald Trump Jr. in 2018 after 13 years of marriage. Meanwhile, Woods’ love life has been the subject of public scrutiny for years, particularly after his highly publicised 2009 sex scandal, which led to the collapse of his six-year marriage to Elin Nordegren. Reports at the time alleged that Tiger Woods had multiple affairs, with claims suggesting he had been unfaithful with as many as 120 women.
