US President Donald Trump has renewed warnings against Iran, stating that time was running out for Tehran to agree to a nuclear deal after it ruled out negotiations under threat.

In a post on social media, Trump urged Iran to return to talks and accept what he described as a fair agreement that would rule out nuclear weapons, warning that the window for diplomacy was closing. He added that a large US military presence was moving into the region.

Trump recalled a previous confrontation with Iran, saying the country had failed to reach an agreement then and was hit by what he described as a devastating military operation. He further cautioned that any future strike would be far more severe.

“Hopefully Iran will quickly ‘Come to the Table’ and negotiate a fair and equitable deal, NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS, one that is good for all parties. Time is running out.

“As I told Iran once before, MAKE A DEAL! They didn’t, and there was ‘Operation Midnight Hammer,’ a major destruction of Iran. The next attack will be far worse!”

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected the pressure, saying diplomacy could not succeed if it was pursued alongside military threats.

He stated that negotiations would only be possible if the United States dropped its threats and what he called excessive, unrealistic demands.

The renewed threats come weeks after Washington backed Israel during a 12-day conflict in June that targeted Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities.

Trump has since kept the option of further military action open, including earlier threats linked to Iran’s crackdown on anti-government protests.

While tensions have eased slightly in recent days with both sides signalling openness to diplomacy, the United States has increased its military presence in the region.

US Central Command confirmed that a strike group led by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has entered Middle Eastern waters, though its exact position was not disclosed.
