Tunisian startup Kumulus Water has successfully secured $3.5 million in seed funding to further develop its pioneering atmospheric water generation (AWG) technology.
The investment will enable the company to scale up its operations and deliver sustainable water solutions to regions grappling with water scarcity.
The funding round attracted contributions from a range of investors, including Bpifrance, via France 2030 SGPI and the Île-de-France Region—PlusVC, Khalys Venture, Flat6Labs, several family offices from Europe and North Africa, and Spadel, a leading European bottled water company.
Iheb Triki, co-founder and CEO of Kumulus Water, expressed pride in the company’s mission, stating, “We’re proud to build a solution that brings real impact to people who need it most. This funding will help us scale more quickly and reach regions where traditional infrastructure cannot.”
The fresh capital will drive the development of the company’s off-grid water technology and support its expansion into key international markets such as France, Spain, and Saudi Arabia.
A significant portion of the funds will go towards launching the Kumulus Boks—a new line of high-capacity, off-grid water units designed for use in industrial settings, schools, humanitarian projects, and public infrastructure. These units are intended to serve communities and organisations in areas where access to clean water is severely limited.
