Uber Says Drivers in Nigeria Can Now Access Earnings Daily

Ride-hailing platform, Uber, has announced that drivers in Nigeria will now have access to their earnings daily, marking a shift from the weekly access hitherto being granted.

Until this change, all ride-hailing platforms operate weekly payout cycles, but Uber says it has listened to the feedback from its drivers and felt it was the right thing to do.

“Rather than receive their earnings once a week, drivers will now be able to opt in to receive their earnings every day, enabling them to meet their personal obligations in a more timely manner”, the statement said.

Additionally, the statement said that drivers will now also get Upfront Destination and Upfront Fares, meaning they can see where the rider is headed and the estimated fares to decide whether to accept the trip or not.

The company’s Country Manager, Tope Akinwunmi also disclosed that Uber has invested in several  safety features had been added to its platform including Audio Recording, Rider Verification, and an in-app Emergency Button
