Ubisoft Confirms ‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Leaked Ahead of Launch

French video game publisher Ubisoft has acknowledged that some players have gained early access to Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the much-anticipated new entry in the popular franchise, ahead of its official release on March 20.

“We are aware players have accessed Assassin’s Creed Shadows ahead of its official release,” the company said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter). Ubisoft urged fans not to share spoilers, emphasizing that the development team is still finalizing patches to enhance the gameplay experience.

Originally slated for release on November 15, the game has faced multiple delays, first to February and then to March, just before Ubisoft’s fiscal year-end.

Earlier this month, Ubisoft reported a sharp revenue drop in the third quarter of 2024, citing recent new-release failures and the delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is set in medieval Japan.
