A UK-based Ghanaian pastor, Isaac Anderson, had his live online prayer session abruptly ended on Tuesday when a masked thief snatched his phone mid-stream, shocking his virtual followers.
Anderson was conducting the morning prayers on Hoe Street, Walthamstow, London, when the incident happened.
“Today, September 23, I declare you blessed. I declare favour upon your life, upon your business, upon your family,” Anderson prayed before he was cut off by two cyclists wearing ski masks.
The cyclists had spotted him and started trailing him before they made off with his phone, a portion of the broadcast showed.
A bus driving towards the pastor honked multiple times in what may have been a warning, but Anderson appeared engrossed in the prayers.
Only the sound of wind is later heard blowing into the device as the cyclists run off, followed by a sudden blackout and an abrupt end to the livestream.
Anderson addressed the incident in a subsequent video message filmed from a device he identified as his tablet.
“This morning, I was walking and doing a live session to declare blessings upon people’s lives. Suddenly, someone on a bike came from behind and snatched my phone, an iPhone 16 Pro Max, right out of my hand,” he said.
The pastor lamented the loss of his files and said he would trust God for a new phone.
In another video he shared, the pastor said he fell heavily and sustained injuries as he attempted to chase the phone snatcher.
In the video shot in a hospital where he is receiving treatment, he asked his congregants to pray for his quick recovery.
