Russian officials reported on Sunday that a Ukrainian drone strike caused damage to an oil pipeline near the strategic Baltic port of Primorsk.
Regional Governor Alexander Drozdenko confirmed via Telegram that while air defences successfully intercepted 19 drones over the Leningrad region, falling debris ignited a section of the infrastructure.
He noted that the affected portion of the pipeline was being “safely burnt out” to manage the leak and confirmed that no casualties resulted from the incident.

This latest strike follows a pattern of intensified Ukrainian operations targeting Russian energy and transport hubs in recent months.
Located between St Petersburg and the Finnish border, Primorsk serves as a critical terminal for Russian oil exports.
The facility was previously targeted in March when a similar attack set an oil depot ablaze, highlighting the persistent vulnerability of high-value infrastructure as the conflict continues to expand its reach into northern Russian territory.
