President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the United States must “finish the job” in Iran, hours after suggesting the conflict could soon end because Washington had largely exhausted its list of military targets.
Speaking during a speech in Hebron, Kentucky, Trump emphasised the need to continue the joint US-Israeli campaign against Iran.
“We don’t want to leave early, do we? We’ve got to finish the job, right?” he said while referring to the ongoing operation with Israel.

The remarks came amid mixed signals from the US president about the duration of the conflict, after he had earlier indicated that the war might conclude soon due to the destruction of many Iranian targets.
Trump has also claimed that American forces have inflicted heavy damage on Iran’s military capabilities during the campaign.
