American, Ukrainian, and Russian officials will meet in the United Arab Emirates on Friday as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the war in Ukraine, the Kremlin said.
Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov told reporters that the talks had been constructive across multiple areas. According to Ushakov, Witkoff and the US delegation are travelling to Abu Dhabi to continue discussions.
A Russian team, led by General Igor Kostyukov, head of Russia’s military intelligence agency, is also expected to arrive shortly.
The announcement follows what Russian officials described as “useful” discussions between President Vladimir Putin and US envoy Steve Witkoff in Moscow, which continued into the early hours of Friday.

The Kremlin confirmed that the first meeting of a trilateral working group on security matters will take place on Friday in Abu Dhabi, although it is unclear whether Ukrainian and Russian officials will meet directly.
“It was agreed that the first meeting of a trilateral working group on security issues will take place today in Abu Dhabi,” Ushakov said.
Ushakov added that Russia remains committed to pursuing political and diplomatic solutions but emphasised that military operations would continue until its objectives are achieved.
“We are genuinely interested in resolving the conflict through political and diplomatic means,” Ushakov told reporters.
“Until that happens, Russia will continue to achieve its objectives, on the battlefield.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told reporters on Thursday that a draft deal was “nearly ready” and indicated that he and former US President Donald Trump had reached an agreement on post-war security guarantees.
