Venezuela Names Panel to Seek Maduro Release

Venezuela’s interim leader, Delcy Rodriguez, on Sunday established a commission aimed at obtaining the release of President Nicolas Maduro and his spouse, Cilia Flores, who were ousted from power by US troops in Caracas.

Rodriguez appointed her brother Jorge, who leads the National Assembly, alongside Foreign Minister Yvan Gil, to co-lead the commission.

According to the announcement, Information Minister Freddy Nanez would also serve on the commission.

Maduro, who faces allegations of drug trafficking and terrorism, was detained in a New York prison on Saturday and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
