Renowned diplomat, broadcaster, and statesman Christopher Kolade has passed away at the age of 92.
His family announced his death in a statement, expressing gratitude for his remarkable life of faith and service. They added he died peacefully on Wednesday, October 8.
Born in 1932, Kolade made a lasting impact on Nigeria’s broadcasting industry as Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) from 1960 to 1978.
He received his early education in Nigeria before studying at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.
Kolade served as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom between 2002 and 2007.

Prior to his diplomatic career, he lectured at Lagos Business School from 1995 to 2002, teaching corporate governance, leadership, and human resource management. Upon his return from the UK, he resumed teaching and research at the institution and, in February 2009, became Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Pan-Atlantic University.
