The Anambra State Security Forces have neutralised a gang of kidnappers who have been terrorising innocent citizens along the Nkpor-Umuoji-Ideani road. On Sunday, May 7, acting on intelligence reports, the Security Forces swooped in on the areas and engaged the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle. The operation resulted in the death of four kidnappers.
After neutralising the kidnappers, the Security Operatives recovered a Lexus Jeep and several sophisticated weapons, including charms tied around the kidnappers’ waists. Meanwhile, the authorities have arrested other suspects who are currently in custody, assisting with investigations.
The Security Agencies hope to use information from the arrested suspects to track down other kidnappers who are still on the run.
Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has repeatedly warned that there is no room for criminality in Anambra State as he has declared zero tolerance on any form of criminal activities in the state.
