American online personality Darren Watkins Jr., known globally as IShowSpeed, performed his track “Champions” during the closing ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
The 21-year-old streamer, whose career took off through football-themed content, performed in front of a packed stadium as Spain faced defending champions Argentina in the tournament decider.
Wearing a white suit, IShowSpeed appeared alongside a troupe of backup dancers in colourful tracksuits.
The three-minute performance featured drummers, choreographed movement, pyrotechnics, smoke effects and large-scale on-pitch visuals.
Footage of the performance spread rapidly across social media, with many fans describing it as a defining moment in the streamer’s transition from online content to music.

The performance follows the June release of “World Cup (Champions),” a song IShowSpeed promoted as an unofficial World Cup anthem.
Its music video accumulated over 3.3 million views within 24 hours of release and ignited debate among fans about whether FIFA should adopt it as the tournament’s official track.
After IShowSpeed tagged football’s governing body on social media, FIFA responded with: “We will be in touch.”
However, the official soundtrack remained “Goals” by Lisa, Anitta and Nigerian artist Rema.
Despite that, the closing ceremony performance gave IShowSpeed a major platform on one of football’s biggest stages.
