WAFCON 2024: Ghana Faces Algeria July 19

The Black Queens of Ghana will face Algeria in the quarter-finals of the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). Ghana secured their spot in the knockout stage by finishing second in Group C.

Their tournament journey began with a 2-0 defeat to defending champions South Africa. This was followed by a tough 1-1 draw against Mali, despite creating numerous scoring opportunities.

Needing a win to advance, the Black Queens delivered a dominant performance in their final group stage match, beating Tanzania with a resounding 4-1 victory.

Led by coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, this crucial win earned Ghana a spot in the quarter-finals, where they will now face Algeria on Saturday, July 19.
