The Nigerian Air Force says water levels at the site of the crashed ATR 42-500 aircraft, NAF 931, in Igbokoda, Ondo State, have dropped significantly as recovery operations entered their fourteenth day on Monday.
Continuous pumping has reduced the water level at the site, with the recovery team working to remove most of the remaining water, subject to prevailing conditions, the NAF said in a statement.
It said sandbags were being used to reinforce the embankment to prevent collapse and maintain stability as dewatering continues.
