Still in the mood of his globally-accalimed single, Essence, Wizkid is still adding more feathers to his illustrious cap with yet another award in his shelf – the MTV Europe Music Awards.
Wizkid beat compatriot and partner in Essence, Tems, Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, South Africa’s Focalistic and American-Ghanaian singer, Amaarae to win the award in a ceremony held at the Laszlo Papp Budapest Sports Arena, Hungary.
Wizkid in 2020 released the Made in Lagos album and received positive reviews for the range and quality expressed with the body of work.
Essence, which has been by far Africa’s biggest song of 2021 and one of the best in the world has seen the Nigerian star break into the Billboard top 100 and won nominations for many awards.
Wizkid during his speech thanked the organisers and hinted on his next album which he’s yet to set a release date for.
