20 Die as Passenger Bus Crashes in Algeria

No fewer than 20 people were killed when a passenger bus summersaulted in Tamanrasset, southern Algeria.

Eleven others were injured in the accident which occurred on Thursday, local reports said at the weekend, citing the civil defence service.

Most victims were of various African nationalities, APS said without giving further details.

One of the dead was an Algerian national, according to the Algerian news website Elkhabar.

The cause of the accident is not clear yet.

Tamanrasset, located near the borders with Mali and Niger, is regarded as a transit point for African migrants seeking to go to Europe.
