Ethiopian Airlines CEO Set to Resign Over Health Issues (News Central TV)

Tewolde Gebremariam, the CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest carrier, is resigning from his position over health issues.

He has been the airline’s president for the past 11 years, during which time it has experienced substantial expansion.

Gebremariam announced that he was retiring early due to health difficulties, noting that he had been receiving medical care in the United States for the previous six months.

The carrier had increased fourfold during his supervision, according to the report. During the coronavirus outbreak, he was also recognized for steering the airline to profitability.

Ethiopian Airlines, formerly Ethiopian Air Lines, is Ethiopia’s flag carrier and was founded on December 21, 1945. It commenced operations on April 8, 1946, expanding to international flights in 1951.
