Egypt’s World Youth Forum Reallocates Funds to Developmental Projects

The executive director of Egypt’s World Youth Forum Rasha Ragab said at a press conference in Cairo that the fifth World Youth Forum, cancelled by organisers on Saturday, will reallocate its budget to five development initiatives.

These initiatives include a rigorous entrepreneurship programme and business incubators to help young entrepreneurs, a “Learning to Earning” programme to enhance the qualifications of Egyptian and expatriate youth and make them employable. There is also a food security programme to help Egyptian farmers increase their yields with the help of Ebda and the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation.

It plans a mental health programme to provide psychological and community support for refugees, migrants and displaced people and their families, and a “Refugees and Migrants” programme to better integrate them into Egypt’s schools and provide them with medical and social support.

Furthermore, the forum will launch a volunteer programme to promote volunteer work in Egypt. With these initiatives, the organisers of the World Youth Forum hope to have a direct impact on citizens, particularly youth, in Egypt and abroad.
