President William Ruto is presently in Japan for a State visit; his first, and the first by a Kenyan Head of State in 20 years.

The visit aims to engage the country’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in bilateral talks, with a focus in key areas, including health, ICT, infrastructure, and financial services, according to State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed on Monday.

The two leaders will also sign “a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in areas such as defense cooperation, private-public partnerships on road construction, and the KEMRI laboratory expansion project,” the statement added.
