First Bank Appoints Olufowose as Chairman to Succeed Odukale

FBN Holdings on Thursday officially announced that Mr. Tunde Hassan-Odukale, Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Limited, will step down following the expiration of his tenure.

This was disclosed in an official company filing published on the Stock Exchange website.

His departure marks the end of a 12-year tenure on the Board, as stipulated by the tenure guidelines set by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for Non-Executive Directors.

Olufowose will succeed Odukale as Chairman of First Bank

He will be succeeded by Mr Ebenezer Olufowose, who joined the First Bank Board as a Non-Executive Director in April 2021 and brings a robust wealth of experience spanning over three decades in the financial sector.

Before his new role, Olufowose was the Group Managing Director of First Ally Capital Limited, a reputable investment banking firm in Lagos.

Mr Odukale’s exit followed that of the former Managing Director of First Bank Limited, Adesola Adeduntan who stepped down last month.
