Members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) led by Mohammed Aruna Ibrahim, the President of SSANU, and Comrade Peters Adeyemi, the General Secretary of NASU, are currently assembled at the Unity Fountain in Abuja to demonstrate against the nonpayment of their salaries for the past four months.
The two unions have voiced their discontent over the unjust delay in receiving their four-month arrears salary. They have pointed out the disparity, highlighting that only members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have been paid.
During the demonstration, a small confrontation occurred at the protest site when security personnel prevented the protesters from dispersing.
