Ratan Tata, Philanthropist and Industrialist, Dies at 86

The Tata Group has announced the passing of Ratan Tata, its Chairman Emeritus, at 86. Ratan Tata led the conglomerate as chairman for over 20 years and had been receiving intensive care at a Mumbai hospital since Monday.

Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons, expressed deep sorrow at Mr Ratan Naval Tata’s death, paying tribute to his exceptional leadership and significant impact on the Tata Group and the nation.

In a social media post on Monday, the industrialist addressed rumours about his health and explained that, due to his age, he was undergoing routine medical examinations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Ratan Tata in a post on X as a visionary business leader and a compassionate and extraordinary human being who showed humility, kindness, and unwavering dedication to improving society.
