President Joe Biden contacted Donald Trump on Wednesday to offer his congratulations on his election victory and propose a meeting in the “near future,” according to the White House.
The White House noted that during the conversation with Trump, “President Biden reaffirmed his dedication to facilitating a seamless transition and highlighted the necessity of uniting the country. “
As indicated in the statement, Biden also spoke with Kamala Harris, congratulating the Vice President on her groundbreaking campaign.
The statement also mentioned that the president “will speak to the nation on Thursday to address the election results and the transition.”
