Bruno Fernandes Backs Ruben Amorim to Energise Manchester United

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has expressed hope that newly appointed manager Ruben Amorim will bring fresh energy to the team, as the Portuguese coach settles into his new role. Amorim arrived at United’s Carrington base on Monday for initial meetings, though he won’t begin coaching until his work visa is confirmed.

The 39-year-old, who succeeded Erik ten Hag, arrives with an impressive track record, having led Sporting Lisbon to two league titles over four seasons. This season, he leaves Sporting in top form with an unbeaten record in their first 11 league games.

Bruno Fernandes praised Amorim’s achievements at Sporting, noting that the coach broke a 20-year title drought with a youthful squad. However, Bruno Fernandes acknowledged that United, without a Premier League title since 2013, poses a unique challenge.

Amorim is United’s sixth permanent manager since Alex Ferguson’s legendary tenure ended in 2013. The team currently sits 13th in the Premier League, just four points shy of the top four. His first match as United manager is scheduled against Ipswich on November 24 after the international break.
