Hamas has expressed its support for the African Union’s strong condemnation of Israel’s actions in Gaza, following a final statement issued during the African Union Summit.
The group praised the “genuine positions” of African countries, noting that these stances reflect Africa’s historical fight against colonialism and injustice, as well as its commitment to values such as freedom and self-determination.
Hamas emphasised that the African position bolstered the Palestinian people’s resolve and resistance against Israeli actions.
The statement also urged the international community to take responsibility for halting the Israeli aggression and holding its leaders accountable. Hamas called for the prosecution of the Israeli occupation and an end to cooperation or normalisation with Israel until it ceases its actions against Palestinians.
