According to state news agency Xinhua, a passenger boat and an industrial vessel collided in the Hunan province of central China on Friday, leaving 11 confirmed dead and five missing.
An oil spill cleaning vessel collided with a passenger boat on the Yuanshui River in Yuanling County on Tuesday, causing 19 people to go overboard. Not long after, two persons were discovered dead, and three more were rescued.
The Xinhua article stated that nine further fatalities were confirmed deceased and that emergency personnel recovered the passenger ship on Friday night.
Rescuers are searching for the five people who are still missing in “complex” conditions because the water is deep in that location.
