Myanmar Earthquake Death Toll Exceeds 3,000, Junta Reports

The death toll from the devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar has surpassed 3,000, according to the country’s ruling junta.

In a statement issued on Thursday, a junta spokesperson confirmed that 3,085 people had died, with 341 still missing and 4,715 others injured, six days after the disaster struck.

Rescue and aid teams from 17 countries have arrived in the region, bringing nearly 1,000 tonnes of relief supplies. Zaw Min Tun, a spokesperson for the junta, expressed gratitude for the hard work of the international community and medical teams, highlighting the ongoing search and rescue operations.
