Portable Freed on Bail From Ilorin Correctional Centre

Singer Badmus Abeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was released on bail on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

Sources revealed that prior to his release, the controversial artist had shaved off his signature multi-coloured hair, opting for a clean look.

His release came after veteran Fuji musician Saheed Osupa, who had filed the petition leading to Portable’s arrest, withdrew the case. Osupa was reportedly present in Ilorin in connection with the matter.

Officials at the Oke-Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin confirmed that Portable was released around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The release followed a variation of his initial bail conditions, which had previously kept him in custody.

It was also gathered that two of his wives were present at the correctional facility to receive him upon his release.

Further information from custodial sources indicated that the singer ate his first meal on Tuesday morning, having reportedly declined food since his remand on Monday.

Portable was arrested last Saturday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and subsequently transferred to Ilorin by operatives of the Kwara State Police Command. His arrest was linked to allegations of criminal intimidation, defamation, and threats to life stemming from a petition filed by Saheed Osupa.
