Napoli will have to wait until the final day of the Serie A season to clinch the title after being held to a 0-0 draw at Parma on Sunday. Despite the frustration, they remain in control of the title race after rivals Inter Milan also dropped points in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Lazio.

Antonio Conte’s side stay just one point ahead of Inter, but were unlucky not to claim all three points after hitting the woodwork twice. Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa struck the post while Scott McTominay had a powerful free-kick tipped onto the crossbar. Napoli appeared to be awarded a penalty in the 96th minute when David Neres was brought down, but the decision was overturned due to an earlier foul by Giovanni Simeone.

Napoli can secure their fourth league title with a win at home against Cagliari on the final day. Their Sardinian opponents, now mathematically safe from relegation following a 3-0 win over Venezia, have little to play for, giving Napoli a strong opportunity to finish the job.

Napoli were spared from losing their lead in the title race thanks to Lazio forward Pedro, whose late double—including a 90th-minute penalty—rescued a point against Inter. The Nerazzurri had looked on course for victory after Denzel Dumfries headed them ahead with 10 minutes left. However, a late handball by Yann Bisseck gave Lazio the chance to equalise.

Inter’s final match is away to Como, who have impressed in their debut top-flight season. Under coach Cesc Fabregas, Como had been on a six-game winning streak until a 1-1 draw with Verona ended their run, though they remain in strong form heading into the finale.
