La Liga champions Barcelona concluded their triumphant season with a commanding 3-0 victory at Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, highlighted by Robert Lewandowski scoring twice to surpass 100 goals for the club.
The 36-year-old Polish striker finished the league campaign with 27 goals, just behind Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé who topped the scoring charts with 31.
Barcelona sealed a domestic treble this season, adding the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup trophies to their league crown, while fourth-placed Athletic enjoyed a strong season of their own, returning to the Champions League for the first time in 11 years.
The match also marked the farewell of Athletic defender Óscar de Marcos, who made his 570th and final appearance for the club, ranking second in appearances behind legendary goalkeeper José Ángel Iribar, who featured 614 times during the 1960s and 70s.
Lewandowski opened the scoring with a skilful chip over Bilbao keeper Unai Simón after a neat pass from Fermín López, marking both Barcelona’s 100th league goal of the season and the striker’s own milestone of 100 goals since joining from Bayern Munich in 2022.

Just three minutes later, Lewandowski added a second by nodding home at the back post from a corner flick-on.
“I’m very happy and proud to be part of this team and club, it’s been incredible,” Lewandowski said after the game. “I try to contribute not just with goals but with my attitude on and off the pitch, and we have many young players to nurture.
“We achieved something great this season but know there is still more to come.”
Lewandowski missed a couple of good chances in the second half as Barcelona sought to extend their lead, while Inaki Peña displayed sharp reflexes to tip a shot against the post. Seventeen-year-old Barcelona talent Lamine Yamal also tested Simón with a clever effort.
The Catalans wrapped up the scoring with a stoppage-time penalty calmly converted by Dani Olmo after he won the spot-kick.
Following the match, De Marcos addressed the fans at San Mamés and was lifted in celebration by his teammates.
“I want to thank everyone who has supported me along the way,” said the 36-year-old defender, who spent 16 seasons at the club. “Next season, I’ll be in the stands, just another Athletic supporter.”
