Netanyahu Celebrates Trump’s Birthday, Highlights US-Israel Alliance During Iran Conflict

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly praised US President Donald Trump on Saturday, sending warm birthday wishes and highlighting Trump as a steadfast ally during Israel’s ongoing military campaign against Iran, Reuters reports.

Despite recent reports of tensions between the two leaders—especially as Netanyahu threatened action against Iran while the US engaged in nuclear talks with Tehran—Trump swiftly endorsed Israel’s large-scale airstrikes launched on Friday, describing them as “excellent” and “very successful.” Netanyahu responded with a statement lauding Trump’s leadership.

“Happy Birthday to you, President Donald J. Trump,” Netanyahu said. “You’ve been an extraordinary leader, decisive, courageous, with a clear vision and clear action. You have done great things for Israel.”

Framing the military operations as part of a wider battle between free nations and what he called a “criminal regime in Iran,” Netanyahu emphasised the shared threat posed by Iran’s ambitions. “Our enemy is your enemy, and by doing what we’re doing, we’re dealing with something that will threaten all of us sooner or later. Our victory will be your victory,” he wrote.

Iran has repeatedly denied accusations of pursuing nuclear weapons and condemned the US for supporting Israel’s attacks, a claim Washington rejects.

Netanyahu also took the opportunity to congratulate the US military on its 250th anniversary, describing American troops as “guardians of freedom for two and a half centuries.”
