US Limits Most Nigerian Non-Immigrant Visas to 90 Days

The United States Department of State has announced a significant update to its reciprocal non-immigrant visa policy, impacting several countries, including Nigeria. Under the new directive, which takes effect immediately, most non-immigrant and non-diplomatic visas issued to Nigerian citizens will now be limited to single-entry with a validity period of three months.

However, U.S. non-immigrant visas granted before July 8, 2025, will retain their existing validity and status.

In a statement on Tuesday, the U.S. government emphasised that visa reciprocity is a standard global practice, continuously reviewed and adjusted as needed, including changes to permitted entries and visa duration.
