The list of prominent players pulling out of the Canadian Open continues to grow, with Roland Garros semi-finalist Lois Boisson announcing her withdrawal from the WTA 1000 event in Montreal.
The rising star cited a left adductor muscle injury for her decision.
Boisson, currently ranked world number 44, shared on social media that an echography confirmed the need for rest and proper healing following pain experienced during her recent tournament win in Hamburg.
“I am very disappointed to miss the @obnmontreal… It was not an easy decision, but I always put my health as a priority,” she stated.

This injury comes at a challenging time for the 22-year-old, who recently secured her first tour-level title in Hamburg, propelling her into the top 50 rankings.
Boisson gained significant attention at last month’s French Open, where she, as world number 361, made a sensational run to the semi-finals, defeating top 10 players Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva along the way.
The Canadian Open, which runs from July 27 to August 7 and serves as a key warm-up for the US Open, has already seen numerous high-profile withdrawals.
In the women’s draw, Aryna Sabalenka and Zheng Qinwen will also be absent from Montreal. On the men’s side, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Novak Djokovic will not compete in the ATP event in Toronto.
