The Delta State Police Command, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, has arrested 184 suspects allegedly involved in internet fraud. The arrests took place on July 21, 2025, within the Post Housing Estate in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State.

The suspects were taken into custody on suspicion of engaging in cybercrime and terrorism financing.

Security personnel also recovered various items from the scene, including laptops, smartphones, an iPad, a table phone, laptop chargers, and Wi-Fi routers.

Confirming the incident in a statement sent to journalists in Warri, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said the arrests were made during a coordinated raid.

According to him, on July 21, 2025, at about 5:45 p.m., operatives from Ekpan Division, acting on credible intelligence and working jointly with the Nigerian Army, conducted a coordinated operation at a location within Post Housing Estate, Effurun, where suspected internet fraud and terrorism financing activities were ongoing.

Edafe added that items recovered from the suspects included 273 laptops, 97 smartphones, one iPad, one table phone, nine laptop chargers, and two Wi-Fi routers.

He said all suspects and exhibits had been taken into custody, and investigations were ongoing to determine the scale of their operations and identify additional accomplices.
