Naira Appreciation Continues in Official Market

The naira extended its gains against the dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Tuesday.

It appreciated to ₦1,533.18 per dollar, up from ₦1,534.21 recorded the previous day—reflecting a day-on-day gain of ₦1.03 and marking the second consecutive day of appreciation.

Naira Appreciates Across Official, Black Markets

However, in the black market, the naira weakened further, falling to ₦1,545 per dollar on Tuesday, compared to ₦1,537 traded on Monday.

This follows Monday’s mixed performance, where the naira gained at the official market but depreciated in the parallel market.
