Teen Arrested Over Times Square Shooting

A 17-year-old boy has been taken into custody after a shooting in New York City’s Times Square left three people injured early on Saturday, according to the New York Police Department.

The incident happened at around 1:20 am (0520 GMT) following a dispute, police said.

An 18-year-old woman sustained a neck graze, while a 19-year-old man and a 65-year-old man were shot in the legs.

Officials confirmed that none of the injuries were life-threatening. All three victims were taken to Bellevue Hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition.

Police recovered a firearm at the scene, but the teenager has not yet been formally charged.

The shooting took place at the busy intersection of 44th Street and Seventh Avenue in the heart of the city’s theatre district, a popular spot for tourists.

The incident comes less than a month after a separate shooting in Manhattan in which a gunman injured four people before taking his own life in a skyscraper.
