The newly appointed Assistant Coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), Ibadan, Oyo State, Akin Olowokere, collapsed and died on Monday morning.
He was among the coaches recently appointed by 3SC.
As of press time, no official statement had been released on the cause of his death.
However, eyewitnesses in Ibadan said “he slumped on the pitch during the team’s Monday morning training session and was rushed to the hospital. He was, however, confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed to.”

It was learnt that the former Sunshine Stars of Akure player and later coach collapsed while in action, prompting immediate medical attention before he was taken to an undisclosed hospital.
Olowokere was recently unveiled as one of the Oluyole Warriors’ new coaches after the club parted ways with the Gbenga Ogunbote-led technical crew.
The soft-spoken tactician had been a long-time player for Sunshine Stars of Akure before moving into coaching. He most recently served as an assistant coach with the club under head coach Edith Agoye.
