The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has unveiled plans to construct a state-of-the-art auditorium at the Nigerian Law School’s Abuja campus as part of ongoing efforts to enhance legal education infrastructure in the country.

Speaking during an inspection visit to the institution, Wike explained that the project aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s vision to strengthen the nation’s justice system through improved learning facilities for future legal professionals. He emphasised that the new auditorium would serve as a centre for academic excellence, providing a conducive environment for lectures, conferences, and moot court sessions.

According to the minister, the project will be fully funded by the FCT Administration and executed to the highest standards to ensure durability and functionality. He also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the construction is completed within the stipulated timeframe and in line with best architectural practices.

“The Nigerian Law School plays a critical role in shaping our legal system. It deserves modern infrastructure that reflects its importance to national development,” Wike said.

He assured the management of the Law School that the FCT Administration will continue to support educational institutions within the territory by prioritising investments in critical infrastructure, including roads, hostels, and lecture halls.

In his remarks, the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Professor Isa Chiroma (SAN), expressed appreciation to the minister for his intervention, describing the gesture as a demonstration of the government’s commitment to the advancement of legal education.

Chiroma noted that the new auditorium would not only improve learning conditions for students but also enhance the school’s capacity to host national and international legal events.
