A man set off an explosive device at a railway station in northern Ukraine on Friday, resulting in the deaths of three other individuals, including himself, due to his injuries, according to officials.
The explosion claimed the lives of three women, one a border guard and the others civilians, during a document check on a platform adjacent to a train, as reported by Ukraine’s border guard in a statement.
The 23-year-old man also succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment in an ambulance following the explosion, the statement continued.

“The explosion was carried out by a man during a document check in a controlled border area at the Ovruch railway station,” the border service said on social media.
Ukrainian media said that he used a grenade, though a representative from Ukraine’s interior ministry told AFP that they could not verify the specific type of explosive.
A photograph shared on Telegram by the Ukrainian border guard service displayed rescuers assisting victims of the explosion on the platform.
