The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of five people abducted by suspected cultists in the state.
In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the victims were freed on Thursday morning.
Those rescued are Prince London, Azubuike Kelechukwu, Elizabeth Aniete, Onyebuchi Precious, and London Sampson.
Iringe-Koko said the operation took place at Rumudogo 2 Community in Emuoha Local Government Area and was carried out by the Command’s Tactical Teams with support from other security agencies and members of the community.

The victims have been taken to the hospital for medical assessment.
She added that efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing abductors.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, vowed to ensure the perpetrators face justice and urged continued cooperation from security agencies, the public and local communities.
He assured residents to go about their activities without fear, emphasising that their safety remains a priority.
