Riley Moore, a member of the United States House of Representatives, has commended the Nigerian government on rescuing 100 school children abducted from St.Mary’s Private Catholic School in Papiri, Agwara LGA in Niger State.
Moore, who made the post on X while reflecting on his meeting with Nuhu Ribadu, Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA), wrote, “This is a positive demonstration of the government’s increasing response to the security situation and shows commitment to the emergency declaration laid out by President Tinubu.”
Recognising the Nigerian government’s receptiveness to work with the United States, he added that such an act would reduce the current Insecurity crisis in Nigeria, especially the killing of Christians.

“There were concrete steps and actions discussed at length, that if fully executed, I believe will enhance security across the country for all Nigerians, disrupt and destroy terrorist organizations in the northeast, and stop the killing of Christians – particularly in the Middle Belt of the country.”
He further hinted at a cooperative security framework between Nigeria and the United States, with plans for further dialogue.
“There is much work still to be done, but things are moving in the right direction. I look forward to the next steps with the Nigerian government and the continued open dialogue.”
