At least 10 passengers have been killed, while several others sustained injuries in a ghastly motor accident along the Jos-Bauchi Road in Jos North Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State.
The accident was reported to have occurred shortly after a military checkpoint at about 12:12 a.m. on Tuesday, involving two trailers and two minibuses.
Confirming the incident, Peter Longsan, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Plateau State, said 10 adult men lost their lives in the crash.

Longsan said preliminary investigations indicated that excessive speed and reckless driving were the major contributory factors.
He added that further investigations were ongoing.
FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Olajide Mogaji, expressed appreciation to those who alerted authorities immediately after the incident.
He urged motorists to avoid night journeys, excessive speeding, and other dangerous driving behaviours.
He further called on drivers to refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol or when fatigued, highlighting these as major causes of fatalities in road traffic crashes.
He noted his distress over the crash, which occurred barely 12 days after eight students of the University of Jos were killed in a similar accident.
Mogaji also emphasized that people should prioritize their personal safety and reminded the public to call the FRSC toll-free emergency number, 122, to report crashes or other road emergencies.
