The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has said President Bola Tinubu remains one of the best political mentors in Nigeria, noting that he is personally learning politics from the president.

Yilwatda made the remark on Saturday in Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State after being conferred with the traditional title of Kaeh-rit (the “good seed of Ampang East”).

“I’m learning from the best leader, Asiwaju Tinubu. Mr President is one of the best politicians you can learn from, and since adopting me as his son, I’ve learned so much from him.

“He is teaching me, and so I’m learning. If you see me succeeding, it’s because I’m learning from the very best politician ever produced in Nigeria. So why not? I will work towards achieving what he has done also, being one of the best politicians in Nigeria,” Yilwatda said.

Yilwatda also donated ₦10 million, seedlings and other agricultural inputs to farmers in Kanke Local Government Area as part of efforts to boost food security, aligning the gesture with President Bola Tinubu’s drive to increase food production and reduce poverty.

He expressed confidence that Plateau State would benefit from Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s recent defection to the All Progressives Congress, noting that governance would be more effective under a unified party structure.

The APC national chairman stressed that the party operates an inclusive membership system, insisting that all members enjoy equal rights regardless of when they joined.

He dismissed claims of preferential treatment for long-standing members, explaining that the party does not recognise “original owners.”

According to him, the integration of a sitting government and its supporters into the APC would create a united political family working in the interest of Plateau residents.

He added that such unity would allow national, state and local government structures to align more effectively, ensuring that policies and budgets are implemented to directly benefit the grassroots.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that the traditional title conferred on Yilwatda in Kanke LGA is the second he has received within two weeks.

Earlier, the Tiv Nation in Benue State honoured him with a traditional title in recognition of his humanitarian contributions.
