The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has decorated 35 newly promoted senior officers in a move aimed at strengthening the state’s security architecture.

The decoration ceremony, held at the command headquarters, saw 30 officers promoted from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), while five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) rose to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, quoted CP Jimoh as saying that the promotions demonstrate the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to professionalism, staff motivation and the recognition of excellence within the Nigeria Police Force.

Speaking on behalf of officers and men of the Lagos State Command, Jimoh expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the confidence reposed in the newly promoted officers.

He described the exercise as a major morale booster that would enhance operational efficiency and service delivery across the command.

The commissioner noted that the new ranks come with higher expectations from both the Force and the public, urging the officers to uphold the highest standards of integrity.

“Show greater diligence, discipline and professionalism in carrying out your duties. Higher rank brings increased responsibility and accountability,” he added.

Jimoh concluded by congratulating the families of the officers and expressed confidence that the promotions would contribute to improved safety and security in Lagos State.

“I am confident that you will continue to make meaningful contributions to the protection of lives and property in Lagos,” he said.
